Install Exsion365
Exsion Reporting BC is an Excel add in that lets users pull real time data from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central into Excel. After installation, a dedicated Exsion Reporting BC menu appears in the Excel ribbon.
Check the installation
Open Excel and look for the Exsion Reporting BC menu in the ribbon. If the menu is visible, the add in is installed and ready for setup.
If the menu does not appear, the most common fix is to close Excel completely and open it again. If it is still missing, the installation may not have completed correctly.
Set up the connection
Before ExsionBC can be used, a connection must be created. A connection is a link to a company or administration in the database, and each company needs its own connection.
In Excel, open the Exsion Reporting BC menu and select Connection. Enter the Business Central URL, choose the sign in method, and then select the language code. If the access key method is used, sign in with the username and web service access key code.
Refresh data
After the connection is created, the user can update the worksheet with current data by selecting Refresh Data. This pulls the latest information from Business Central into the report.
This is useful when source data has changed and the Excel report needs to match the current situation in the system.
Help and information
The Help option contains the full Exsion Reporting BC manual and can be printed from the help screen.
The Info screen shows settings, support options, version details, license usage, and language settings. It also lets users check details for selected Exsion formulas to confirm that the right parameters were used.
First use of Exsion functions
Exsion functions can only be used after at least one connection has been created. They are inserted in Excel through the Formulas tab and the Insert Function button, just like standard Excel functions.
The ExsionBC standard category includes functions such as ExsionBC_BEDRIJF, which returns the display name of a Business Central company.
